Dean's Word

 

 Praise be to God, who made seeking knowledge a duty and worship, and blessings and peace be upon the best teacher and guide of our master Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him. The Kingdom has a comprehensive vision and a clear strategy to employ its civilizational heritage and to advance the wheel of development and renaissance in both fields.

The college was established based on the noble Royal Decree No. 10336/MB dated 08/22/1426 AH, in conjunction with the Higher Education Council Resolution No. 7/38/1426 dated 5/26/1426 AH. The college was established at King Saud University in response to the nation’s needs in preparing cadres Qualified to work in the field of tourism and heritage, and to contribute to conducting studies and scientific research related to the college’s specializations and human and development needs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The college consists of three academic departments: the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management, the Department of Archeology, and the Department of Heritage Resources Management and Tourist Guidance. A good number of graduates have graduated from the college, and the graduates enjoy a high academic level, due to the college’s endeavor to achieve creativity and leadership in the field of tourism and heritage sciences. Its graduates are distinguished for leadership in scientific and applied research in various fields, and contribute to securing the needs of society through creativity, innovation, and through partnership with community institutions, and the preparation of distinguished cadres capable of localizing modern technologies to serve and develop society.

The college was keen to attract distinguished faculty members from Saudis and from brotherly and friendly countries. It also attracted many outstanding graduates to work as teaching assistants in the college, and sent them to continue their higher studies in the best international universities. The college also sought to serve the community by providing consultations to the private and governmental sectors, providing specialized courses and workshops, as well as holding local and international conferences and participating in scientific forums locally and abroad.
